Colby Covington has teased fans ahead of his UFC Tampa bout against Joaquin Buckley, promising that his walk to the octagon will feature celebrities and make headlines.

Covington and Buckley are set to face-off in the main event slot at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida. The bout marks Covington's first return to action since his defeat to Leon Edwards last December, with the 36-year-old hoping to turn around a mix of form that has seen him go 2-3 in his last five outings.

For Buckley, the 30-year-old is hoping to extend his fine run in the welterweight division. After moving down to 170 pounds from middleweight, 'New Mansa' has looked better than ever and has picked up five straight victories, most recently knocking out Stephen Thompson back in October.

"They [fans] need to watch because I have special things in store. We're gonna blow the roof off the Amalie Arena. It's gonna be a spectacle. I've got some people that are gonna walk out [with me]. It's gonna be entertainment at its finest. It's gonna be beautiful, honestly it's gonna be a movie. If you miss this show, it's the last show of the year, I feel bad for you. Joaquin Buckley believes Colby Covington is "scared" ahead of their UFC Tampa clash

Joaquin Buckley recently made the bold claim that he believes Colby Covington will be stepping into the octagon against him "scared".

Ahead of their bout and following the ceremonial weigh-ins, the No.9 ranked welterweight spoke to ESPN MMA to share his final thoughts before making the walk to the cage.

According to 'New Mansa', he believes the lack of energy and charisma from Covington on stage is proof he is worried about the fight:

"I was just being quick-witted [on stage]. Obviously with Colby being such a character, he didn't pop out today. And I haven't seen him all week. My first indication is when I saw, which Colby am I going to see out there? The character, or a little shy kid. And I saw a little shy kid. I feel like with Colby, he's really scared, he's really nervous. He doesn't want to act like the character because he knows he's got a real threat in front of him."
